Justin,
Good call on this. Tell Mark thank you for taking the time to think through this.
I listened to a Palestinian Christian last week at Wheaton named Yohanna Katanacho. He was extremely challenging – especially to those who were raised with a “traditional” dispensational view. His presentation of his paper entitled “Christ Is The Owner Of Haaretz” gave me a lot to think about. It was amazing to hear from a Palestinian perspective about how the traditional dispensational view has actually done violence to his own people.
Yohanna’s the real deal. He’s at Trinity finishing his PhD under VanGemeren. It would be very beneficial if people are thinking about this to at least wrestle with his contextualized and very exegetical view.
Sorry for the long (first) comment, but I’m glad people are thinking about this.
Blessings.

Justin,
A few qualms with the “dispensational chart.”
First, not all dispensationalists hold to 7 dispensations.
Second, you would have a hard time finding serious dispensational theologians today who hold that the EU is necessarily the revived Roman Empire or that Russia necessarily holds eschatological significance in its relation to Israel.
Third, the comment about the Gentile church being removed at the rapture is incorrect. Dispensationalists hold that Jews who are saved in this dispensation are added to the number of the church and will be raptured along with Gentile believers.
Thank you.

Thanks, Justin. A friend of mine is thinking about teaching a course on the end times in his Sunday School class, but really hasn’t read a lot about different eschatalogical systems. I’ll pass this along to him. It should be very helpful.
Thanks Justin,
The charts are helpful, and some of the best I’ve seen.
