  1. Based on the unprecedented hype there really was no other option for him. False messiahs usually fall hard and quick.

  2. The Bush Administration must be behind it!

Either that or Global Warming, I mean Climate Change.

  3. Unfortunately the damage has already been done. We still have over three years to go. God help us.

  4. Folks elected a face, a feeling. Now that they are getting a look at the person behind the hysteria some are having buyer's remorse.
    It's only begun.

  5. This kind of a statement does nothing except attempt to win favor with a disaffected base. Brooks has been labeled as a RINO who made cozy with the liberal MSM. Now, he pontificates about how far Obama's approval ratings have fallen in 7 months so he can be the darling of the right again. Silliness.

From a more balanced and scientific approach, Obama's slide in the polls means exactly nothing. The fact is, he came into office with an approval rating that was 15 points higher than his share of the popular vote last November. He had nowhere to go but down, unless a major catastrophe befell the nation that prompted a 'rally around the flag effect' such as GWB enjoyed in 2001 that lasted into 2003.

The bottom line is this: Obama's numbers are settling in at where they ought to be. Conservatives hate him, liberals love him, and independents aren't sure.

Reagan went from 68% to 37% between May '81 and March '83…a bigger, faster decline than anyone before him. What happened? He won a landslide re-election a short 18 months later. So, politically speaking, Obama's fall means nothing…nothing at all.

And no, I'm not defending him. Just adding an academic perspective to the media nonsense.

  6. I have no doubt there is a logical explanation for the first comment being deleted, but I couldn't help but laugh at the possibility of Thabiti getting the "gong" while CT gets to perform his full set.
