Birthmothers
I’ll be doing a seminar at the Adopting for Life conference this February at Southern Seminary. Russell Moore, David Platt, and Jedd Medefind will be the plenary speakers, and Andrew Peterson will be leading worship.
My topic will be on the subject of birthmothers. I’d like to help us think through how to think about, and how to relate to, women who give birth to children and then place them in our families for adoption. It’s not an easy topic, it’s not one that is talked about much in evangelical circles, and I’m not an expert in this area.
If you have ever placed a baby for adoption, I’d be served by hearing some of your story–including things like what the adopting family did to help, and to hurt, the situation. If you have adopted and you have some insights to share, I’d be interested in hearing from you, too.
