Collins Review of Walton on Genesis 1
Collins Review of Walton on Genesis 1 avatar

Jack Collins, Professor and Chair of OT at Covenant Theological Seminary, has done a lot of work on the intersection of science and the Bible. If you want thoughtful discussions of miracles, science, or Genesis 1-4, he has written three books that would be my top recommendation in each category: (1) The God of Miracles: An Exegetical Examination of God’s Action in the World; (2) Science and Faith: Friends or Foes? (3) Genesis 1-4: A Linguistic, Literary, And Theological Commentary.

So it makes sense that he was asked to review John Walton’s new book, The Lost World of Genesis One: Ancient Cosmology and the Origins Debate.

If you haven’t yet read Walton’s book, you can listen to this online lecture (including Powerpoint slides).

I found Collins’s review (hosted at the Reformed Academic blog) helpful in continuing to think through these important issues.
