Organizing a Day of Silence and Solitude with God
Organizing a Day of Silence and Solitude with God avatar

Yes, having a “quiet” time is really a biblical misnomer (as David Powlison recently reminded us). But in a recent blog series Mark Driscoll is using “silence” to refer to silence from the typical “noise pollution” that surrounds us day in and day out.

Here’s his series:

  1. Four Ways to Live Your Life
  2. Four Ways to Change Your Life
  3. Understanding Silence and Solitude
  4. Silence and Solitude Stealers
  5. Silence and Solitude Journaling Template

If you only read one post, I’d recommend the last one, where Driscoll gives a helpful list of things to journal and pray through.

It looks like he has found Wayne Cordeiro’s book, Leading on Empty, helpful in thinking about such things.
