  1. John Taylor says:

Great article. It’s a same that more American Christians have not discovered Bach and his God glorifying music!

  2. MarkO says:

is this resurgence of Bach in the Land of the Rising Sun a gain for Catholicism or the evangelical message?

  3. Ben says:

    Fascinating article.

  4. Richard says:

    MarkO,

Suzuki is a Reformed Christian believer, Bach was a Lutheran. If you listen to the words of Bach’s cantatas or his Passion music, they present clear messages of the Gospel of Christ. Bach was a devout believer in the Gospel–and his music reflects this. Bach’s music presents the message of the Evangel–and Suzuki is doing great work to spread his love for Bach’s music. We should be content to do what Bach did at the end of the writings of his music and say “SDG!”–to God alone by the glory.
