Cool. More books written by old white guys. When will we bring ourselves to realize that excluding women and those outside of the vaunted “West” is an act of straight-up oppression?

    1. Justin Taylor says:

      LOL!

    2. Timbo says:

When you suggest books whose exclusion supports your contention that women and non-Western writers have been oppressed (instead of simply not having written something as influential as Luther, Calvin, et. al.).

  2. dan ,

Do you have five suggestions of your own?

  3. Kevin DeYoung says:

Athanasius was a dark-skinned Egyptian bishop who was dubbed by his enemies, “Black Dwarf.” Probably not the whitest of old white guys.

    1. and Calvin wrote the “Institutes” before he was thirty. Probably not the oldest of old white guys.

  4. David says:

I can’t believe Augustine isn’t listed. Talk about an illiterate list. It’s like he doesn’t even care about the primacy of Western Civilization.

    ;)
