No Ordinary Marriage: Together for God’s Glory
Tim Savage’s new book, No Ordinary Marriage: Together for God’s Glory, is undoubtedly the first (and probably the last) to be endorsed by both Kevin Vanhoozer (a rock star of theologians) and Alice Cooper (a rock star of rock stars).
Vanhoozer writes:
No Ordinary Marriage is an extraordinary book. What makes this work stand out in an overcrowded marketplace of ‘how to’ books is its compelling vision of marriage for the glory of God. I know of few books on marriage that combine elegant writing, sound doctrine, clear illustrations, and practical advice in equal measure. This is a book on marriage made in heaven. Cooper writes:

Vanhoozer actually played drums on Cooper’s first 3 albums. I believe he left the band over a theological dispute regarding the canonical-linguistic approach to Scripture. Further complicating matters, Cooper denied there is an inherent meaning in song lyrics. I believe they’ve patched things up now, but they tend to keep their personal meetings to a minimum. I’m glad they at least agree that this is a good book…

Camelback was my church growing up in Phoenix. Later, when coming home from Dallas Seminary, I taught a summer long Sun. school class that Vince Cooper (aka Alice) was in. He asked great questions about serious matters.
