WSJ on Urban Church Planting
Alex Kellogg has written a good piece on the perils and promise of church planting in our urban centers. Scott Thomas from Acts 29 is referenced at one point. But most of the article focuses on Mack Ave. Community Church in Detroit. The church is pastored by Leon Stevenson, Eric Russ, and Eric Nielsen. Eric and Eric both went to Gordon-Conwell. They also attended University Reformed Church while at MSU (Eric Nielsen as a student and Eric Russ as a staff worker with Campus Crusade). They are both friends of mine (I’m sure Leon is great too). I am excited about and impressed with the work they are doing in Detroit.
