Kevin,
I appreciate your emphasis in exposing some of the problems of the "Deeper Life" Keswick teaching.

Are you familiar with Bill Gilham, and Charles Solomon and "the Exchanged Life" - "the Christian no longer has a sinful nature" - passivity heresy ? This is mostly around in Baptist and Dispensational and independent Evangelical churches. (They take Romans 6:6 and Galatians 2:20 and say the Christian no longer has a sinful nature)

1. What do you think of "Justification and Regeneration" by Charles Leiter ?
http://www.monergismbooks.com/Justification-and-Regeneration-Expanded-Edition-p-17823.html

I see it promoted, and I am considering buying it; but I am concerned when I read that the author says that Romans 7:14-25 is about an unbeliever. And some of the comments at the review are amazing to me; it is amazing to me, that they think it is about an unbeliever only. What is your view of Romans 7:14-25 ?

2. What do you think of Jerry Bridges book, "The Pursuit of Holiness" (Nav Press) ? You both seem to have the same emphasis, though I have not read your book, only just watched this video and seen some of your other articles here. How is your book different?

3. What do you think of J. I. Packer's book, "Keep in Step with the Spirit" ? - he addresses a lot of the problems with the Keswick view also.

Thanks,
Ken Temple

Would love to have seen a little laughter, or even a smile. For surely personal holiness results in abiding joy?

[...] The Hole in Our Holiness. Even though DeYoung is a continual personal discouragement (we’re the same age, but he seems a tad more “productive”), I’m looking forward to his new book.
What a great interview. Three keys that I heard. There are multiple motivations for holiness in scripture - including, but not only gratitude. The true foundation for our holiness - our union with Christ, which is why we must "be who we are" in him. How does God work holiness in us - by the ordinary means of grace. We say we've heard about these all our lives. The question is how diligently are we pursuing them? How expectant are we when we come to the word daily (are we in the word daily), when we pray, when we participate in the Lord's supper? God be praised.
