I would propose that every denomination that has been established since the foundation of the church have been established on premature or unbalanced applications of biblical truths that have or will turn out to be fundamentally mistaken.

There appears to be a technical problem with this blog. It is 6 Feb here in Australia, and the post for the last 3 days has been this one of the 2nd. I am used to being one day ahead of For the Love of God for most of the day here, but can’t believe Australia is getting further and further ahead chronologically. I love the blog, and use it daily to organise much of my Bible reading. I hope the problem is purely technical.

The last two verses before this chapter (Esther 5:13-14) seem to imply that Haman may have avoided insomnia by making of the gallows at his house, yet the King’s insomnia resulted in the providential deployment of the gallows on the following day.

One commentary I read recently gave the parallel symbolism in the book of Esther:
(1) Queen Vashti ==> Human Spirit (after the fall)
(2) Queen Esther ==> Renewed Spirit (after regeneration)
(3) Mordecai ==> The Holy Spirit
(4) Haman ==> Sinful Nature (Flesh)

Esther’s response in faith reminds me of the response of Daniel’s friends to the threat of King Nebuchadnezzar: “…our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18)
