Praise befits the upright

“Praise befits the upright.” Psalm 33:1
A spirit of praise toward God is not just obligatory; it’s fitting, it’s beautiful. That’s what the verse is saying.
A frowning church is ugly. A praising church is beautiful. Think of a man wearing a great suit, with the perfect shirt for that suit, but then he puts on a killer tie that makes the whole thing pop. That’s what praising God does for a church. A spirit of praise beautifies everything.
Praises to God befit us who are not upright in ourselves but fully upright in Christ. Hey, we’re not going to hell any more. There is nothing to keep us from praising God now.

That last bit, Hey, we’re not going to hell any more, is enough to squash any bitterness or disapointment. Cancel the SuperBowl, we need to have a bigger party that we’re not going to hell anymore.

I enjoy you blog – particularly this post. Bless you. I agree about canceling the Superbowl party and celebrating that we are His, and I am even a football fan.
What do you think God is doing when we worship?
And not only are we not going to hell, even better we actually get to be with Jesus forever!
