I rarely consider the fact that today could be my last. I don't ask myself whether I would regret the way I used my time if these were the last twenty-four hours of my life. Josh Moody recently pointed out that meditating regularly on the things of eternity, both judgment and glory, are important motivations in the life of the pastor. I pray that God will give me, and the American church, a more eternal perspective that drives us to new levels of holiness and zeal.
