We are very pleased to welcome Ray Ortlund and his blog “Christ is Deeper Still” to The Gospel Coalition Blog Network. Dr. Ortlund is a pastor-theologian who represents well the vision for ministry The Gospel Coalition is trying to spread. We are deeply grateful to the Lord for Ray’s leadership on The Gospel Coalition Council and now on our blog network.

To give you a window into why we’re so excited about the addition of “Christ is Deeper Still,” here’s Ray’s inaugural post:

I thank my brothers on The Gospel Coalition for the trust of this blog. I consecrate it to this purpose: “. . . to sustain with a word him who is weary” (Isaiah 50:4).

Everyone needs sustaining, because everyone is weak. But there is a word that refreshes, sustains, revives. God spoke it to us in Jesus and personalizes it to us by his Spirit. It is my theme, for his glory.

Welcome, Ray! We thank the Lord for our partnership in the gospel.
