I have read many Christian novels in the past which have encouraged and challenged me in my faith. The shack was one of those novel I had difficulty relating to simply because I could not imagine or believe it was a possibility. My firm belief in scripture prevented me from grasping its message. For instance, Gal. 1, proclaims loud and clear that if anyone preaches another gospel than the one which is stated in scripture let them be acursed. Well, I personally take that with all seriousness, without judging how God might use the message of the shack to encourage others. This is just my take.
With that, I have taken the last year and penned a novel which is inspiring and filled with hope without coming from no-mans-land to capture the imagination. The novel is entitled 'Mississippi Wind' and can be found on Amazon. The reviews so far have been encouraging and I hope the readers are blessed by the message, without having to put up their guards or warp scripture. Just relax and be inspired.

Really, do you know William Young? Do you know his story? Thats pretty judgemental and narrowminded dont you think. What is "the church" anyways? People have been healed and restored, come to know Jesus as Lord for the first time through this book that William wrote for his kids and not to be published fyi. Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

People have taken the potential negative impact of this book far too seriously. I understand both sides of the argument. I feel that if the book creates discussion about Jesus and directs people to the Word of God in the Bible, which I know it has, then this is a good thing. If a person who reads the book, believes it, and doesn't go to the Word of God, aren't they in the same place they were in before they read it? It might just be a way to plant a seed for future germination.
