I saw this link in a blog I read regularly - my husband (an associate pastor) attended The Gospel Coalition conference last year in Chicago and had an absolute BLAST -- loved the Biblical teaching, the worship -- thank y'all for speaking Truth, for being Salt and Light -- in a fallen and hurting world. Many thanks and can't wait to read that dissertation.

I absolutely love this. Being in Thailand right now, and praying for Burma, it encourages me to remember why we do what we do and why we are willing to forsake all worldly pleasures.

"for the sake of him who left his heavenly home, and died for her and for you; for the sake of perishing, immortal souls; for the sake of Zion, and the glory of God? Can you consent to all this, in hope of soon meeting your daughter in the world of glory, with the crown of righteousness, brightened with the acclamations of praise which shall redound to her Saviour from heathens saved, through her means, from eternal woe and despair."

I also appreciate your challenge to parents!

Thank You.

Thanks for this post. I'm part Burmese and my parents and grandparents and other relatives were born there. Very grateful to God for Adoniram Judson!

This is nothing less than inspiring! Thank you for sharing this... it reminds me how blessed I am to have the God-fearing, sending parents I do. Is it horrible to hope some similar "fate" would befall me?
