Desiring a Good Thing: Mahaney Interviews MacDonald on Pursuing Pastoral Ministry avatar

Do you want to become a pastor? If so, you desire a good thing (1 Tim. 3:1), James MacDonald tells fellow TGC council member C. J. Mahaney in this interview. MacDonald draws upon his experience as founding and senior pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel to counsel Mahaney, role-playing as a young man who aspires to work full-time equipping the saints to do the work of ministry (Eph. 4:12).

During The Gospel Coalition's 2011 national conference in Chicago, Albert Mohler, Don Carson, Mark Driscoll, and David Helm will take up "Training the Next Generation of Pastors and Other Christian Leaders" in a panel discussion during the first round of workshops on Wednesday, April 13. During the second round, Mahaney will lead a workshop on "Pastoring with Discernment: Applying the Gospel to the Hearts of Those You Serve." MacDonald, who recently launched a new blog, will preach a plenary sermon from Psalm 25, "Not According to Our Sins," on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Register now to join us at McCormick Place in Chicago from April 12 to 14.
