Having experienced my own weight loss journey your insights here are wonderful. I finally did write a blog post letting others know what things I did to achieve my results BUT while in the midst of it---it was a private journey. I didn't solicit for anyone else to participate and that was most comfortable for me. The reminder that my body is the temple was a constant companion that helped a lot.

Amen!!! As a woman in recovery from an eating disorder and someone who works with college-aged women, I applaud this article and the sense that it brings to the New Year. This is what I tell my students: why do we talk about it? Why do we measure ourselves by our pant size, dress size, shirt size? Why not look to Jesus as our standard...and build one another up in who we are---not how we look. So, thanks for the encouragement!
