I would add to Jay's comments that the pastors Kent trained inherited his habit of training still other pastors. I am one of a second generation who only briefly sat under Kent's ministry before he retired from College Church. But I had the pleasure of being personally mentored at College Church by some of Kent's proteges (including both Jay and Chris). There are many ways in which, through the influence of his proteges, I have been profoundly influenced by Kent as well. Kent's ministry DNA and philosophy of preaching has been passed (even if developed) through multiple generations. I believe that, too, is a testimony of God's grace. Thanks Chris and Jay! I have not had the pleasure of meeting R. Kent Hughes, though heard him speak when he came to Sydney. I am very thankful to God in that I serve under a Vicar (yes I am an Anglican) who is a very godly man and it is a pleasure to sit under his leadership. Thankyou for posting this.
