Shepherd’s Notes: How a Busy Pastor Celebrates the Lord’s Day
I have the privilege to serve on the council of The Gospel Coalition. It’s a great honor to sit at the feet of these men and to learn from the collective centuries of wisdom, knowledge, experience, pain, failure, and victory represented. What a lavish blessing the Lord has given me through The Coalition.
It’s difficult to summarize and relay the wealth of teaching transferred in our council meetings every other year. But I want to try. So, I’m going to start posting each Sunday (Lord willing) one of the short videos of Coalition members answering pastoral and theological questions important for the Christian life. Let’s call ‘em “Shepherd’s Notes.” I think you’ll find these feed the soul. And I pray the Lord delivers help and encouragement to His people through them.
To inaugurate this new feature at Pure Church, I’m calling on my man Ligon Duncan, Senior Minister at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Mississippi to explain his approach to the Lord’s Day.
I’d love to hear what you think of Ligon’s comments and more about how you approach the Lord’s Day in the comments section. Praying the Lord has blessed your Lord’s Day today.
