I find that I can fall into wrong thinking by becoming too tired even. Even then it’s a clear mind that I lack and I can easily fall into that “word of doom and despair”.

True, but difficult. I’m talking to a young woman who’s recently lost her mother to cancer. She told me that she and God are “no longer friends.” In theory God doesn’t give you more than you can bear, but this sweet person is turning away from God because she had quite a bit to carry. Of course, we don’t know where this will go, but right now she’s making decisions that she will never be able to undo, and she’s making them believing that she and God are no longer friends. I wonder what God is up to, and I’m sure He’s in control. But I found it hard to talk with her and not sound completely stupid.
Thanks for your post. It gave me something to think about.
