TGC Women’s Conference Audio and Video Available avatar

I’ve been waiting to access the audio and video from this past June’s TGC Women’s Conference.  I’ve heard wonderful things from my wife and about 20 ladies from the church who were able to attend.  Well, the wait is over.  If interested, you can grab the video of the plenary sessions and the audio of the workshops here.

New Life Conference Audio
New Life Conference Audio avatar

A couple weeks ago, I had the privilege of speaking at the 10th New Life Fellowship Bible Conference in Vernon Hills, IL.  This is easily my favorite conference of all.  To know why, see here.  I mean, you can’t get much better than hanging out with and sitting under the word with Tony Carter, Reddit Andrews, Ken Jones, and Louis Love and all the saints and pilgrims who make the journey there.  Word.  Spirit.  Laughter.  Joy.  Love.  It’s an awesome time!

This year’s theme was “A God Like No Other: Expositions of the Book of Micah.”  The site and audio work best with Explorer or Firefox.  Here’s the line-up:

The Glory Comes Down: Micah 1 (Tony Carter)

The Present Darkness: Micah 2-3 (Ken Jones)

The Coming Glory: Micah 4 (Reddit Andrews)

The Shepherd Who Leads: Micah 5 (Thabiti Anyabwile)

The Holiness God Demands: Micah 6 (Ken Jones)

The God Like No Other: Micah 7 (Reddit Andrews)

What a great blessing to preach one of the best known passages (or at least verses) in the Christian world.  Check the audio.  Next year, check the conference itself.  You won’t be disappointed.  Next year’s theme: “Give ‘em Heaven: Expositions of Revelation 19-22.”

T4G Debrief: The Ministry Wives Panel
T4G Debrief: The Ministry Wives Panel avatar

Well, that’s not really a T4G event proper, but it was organized in coordination with T4G.  Mrs. Mary Mohler led a panel of pastors’ wives in a discussion with wives at Southern Seminary.  My darling wife had opportunity to contribute to the conversation along with Jani Ortlund, Lauren Chandler, and two “p.k’s,” Katie Mohler and Ashley Smith.  Obviously, I wasn’t invited to attend.  I’m not bitter, really.  But I did hear it was a great discussion.  You can listen in to both part 1 and part 2.  I pray it blesses.

Talking about the Trellis & the Vine
Talking about the Trellis & the Vine avatar

The elders of FBC are currently leading about 40 members of the church through a discussion of The Trellis and the Vine.  As elders, we found the book so helpful and clear that we wanted to share its insights with our people.

I just learned that Tony and Col, authors of the book, are posting a series of podcasts discussing issues related to the book.  Thus far there are two discussions posted:

Trellis & Vine Talk 1–Not About Small Groups

In this first episode of Trellis & Vine Talk Tony and Col discuss—amongst other things— why the ideas in The Trellis and the Vine are not about small groups and one-to-one. Listen to it here, or download the file to catch up on it later.

Trellis & Vine Talk 2–Who Is Your Sheep?

This is the second episode of Trellis & Vine Talk, in which Tony and Col discuss discipleship gurus, what (or who) exactly is a lay pastor, a shepherds heart, and ministry of the word. Listen to it here, or download the file to catch up on it later.

Thanks to The Briefing for posting these!  Enjoy!

Worship God ’11 Audio
Worship God ’11 Audio avatar

The good folks at Sovereign Grace Ministries have posted some of the audio from last week’s Worship God ’11 Conference.

Ray Ortlund, Jr, “Gathering to Behold” (2 Cor. 3:18)

Bryan Chappell, “Gathering to Rehearse the Gospel” (Isaiah 6:1-8)

Thabiti Anyabwile, “Gathering Around the Word” (1 Tim. 4:11-16)

I thoroughly enjoyed Ray’s and Bryan’s meditation on the greater glory of God in Christ and in grace.  Each arrived at that theme from their different texts and left us beholding the greatness of the Lord Jesus.  Well worth the listen.

I assume the audio from Bob Kauflin’s and Craig Cabaniss’ talks will be posted soon.

Update:

They’ve now added the final two plenary sessions.  Both were outstanding and practically helpful.

Bob Kauflin, “Gathering to Edify” (1 Cor. 14)

Craig Cabaniss, “Gathering to Commission” (1 Peter 2:9-10)

Paul Tripp, Phil Johnson Audio from Ocean City Bible Conference
Paul Tripp, Phil Johnson Audio from Ocean City Bible Conference avatar

A week or so ago I had the privilege of joining Paul Tripp, Phil Johnson, Fred Zaspel and Kevin O’Brien as speakers at the Ocean City Bible Conference.  If you’re looking for a family friendly, spiritually refreshing, and recreationally rich time, you should consider the Ocean City Bible Conference.  What other conference organizes a sand castle contest during some of the family down time?  What a wonderful time with the saints there!

They’ve now posted a selection of audio from the conference.  You might be interested to hear:

Phil Johnson on “An Exhortation to Timid Souls” (Encouraging)

Paul Tripp on “The War: The Kingdom of God vs. the Kingdom of Self” (Very convicting)

Myself on “Living the God-Centered Life: Centered on the Word” (Heb. 1)

Or a “Coffee House Q&A” with Phil Johnson, Paul Tripp, Kevin O’Brien and myself. (a lot of fun)
