You're right. We should be listening to God's voice and be in prayer continually. I still think that there is something to be said for studying Scripture and praying alone, at least at one point of the day. But I think it could go a step further. Why do we have to separate "Quiet Time" from all other time? How about we take Paul's command to pray without ceasing and intertwine all of life with spiritual formation. Then, when we go to the grocery store, the bank, give a few bucks to a homeless man, and read our Bibles in the morning, we will always be listening for God's voice and seeking His will.
