The wonderful statement in Ephesians 1:10 which says that God’s purpose was to sum up all things in Christ reminds me of the title of a wonderful small book by Watchman Nee.

It's titled as 'Christ the Sum of All Spiritual Things' which came to my attention a few decades ago as was suggested by a next seat passenger on a airplane. Sum of righteousness, sanctification, salvation, etc.

Dr. Wright,

Thanks for including this important question on your website. I am not sure who you work with in India, but there is a great deal of work going on among the Dalits there. God is really at work in the lowest levels, among the least of Indian society, and this movement is forcing the Caste-infected church to face its sins. Some leaders, notably Joseph D'Souza in the evangelical world and John Dayal among Catholics are confronting caste-oriented churches with the wisdom of Ephesians. This is a hard process, and it is tragic that even as we raise the Dalit issue internationally (as we do in the United States), some in the Indian church are sitting on their hands. Lets pray the Holy Spirit convicts those in the wrong, that they, too, might participate in the transformation happening in India.

God Bless,

Benjamin Marsh
