From the Archive: Is Authenticity Overrated?
One of the new features of Kingdom People in 2008 will be an occasional “From the Archive” post. I realize that most of my readers today have not been with me from the beginning. The world of blogging is fast-paced. Posts shine brightly and then quickly fade. Some older posts might deserve a second look, a chance at new life in the blogosphere.
In the early days of this blog, I wrote a post about my generation’s quest for authenticity. While sympathetic to the need to be authentic (the Bible explicitly condemns hypocrisy, after all), I believe we need to go forward with wisdom in this matter and not use the mantra of authenticity as an excuse for sinful patterns of behavior.
I encourage you to check out Time to Get Real about “Getting Real.”
