RTK completely wrecked the lives of people in Westminster Chapel through his ungodly and unbiblical teaching and his manipulative and hypocritical life. RT Kendall persecutes people who are truly filled with the Spirit (not people who have some fake blessing). Don't be fooled by these men. There is a powerful gift of God for followers of Jesus Christ which is called the promise of the Father where the Spirit Himself gives us wisdom and revelation to combat the teachings of ungodly men. If any of us follow Jesus He is faithful to impart this gift to us. Some of us have now received this gift and RT kendall has been identified as one of the major culprits in shutting the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. By all means read Lloyd-Jone's books because he is a righteous man but ultimately trust in God Himself to protect you from the wickedness of people like RT Kendall and his friends. Trust in God, trust also in His Son. The Son of God will teach you and guide you and remove all the snares that these type of ungodly men put in peoples faces to prevent them from knowing the glorious liberty of the sons of God. I have yet to read this particular book, but your summary of Kendall is much like my own. Being a big Lloyd-Jones guy myself I was horrified when I visited Westminster Chapel (about 7 years ago). Some of the stories that I heard in London were very depressing. Anyone who has read Lloyd-Jones would very quickly say that he would have NEVER endorsed the elements of the charismatic church that Kendall embraced. I believe that Kendall has greatly dishonored the legacy of Westminster and the ministry of Lloyd-Jones. I have a hard time respecting someone who would openly embrace the Toronto Blessing. I have personally seen churches torn apart by that and it's rather ironic that a man who embraced the so-called "Third Great Awakening" (as some folks hyped it up as)would then lament the lack of revival in his own church. The fact is that the Toronto Blessing actually split churches and left many disillusioned about their Christian faith. It wasn't a revival at all--quite the opposite! In the end, the legacy of Martyn Lloyd-Jones and G. Campbell Morgan, will long outlive Kendall. I wish him well and celebrate God's grace in his life--but I feel that he has, and continues to, dishonor a great man of God. And he has left Westminster in very poor shape. Great review.
