coldfire,

We are Christians because we repented of sin and trusted Christ as Lord of our lives. God may of used the example you gave to bring them to that point, but that is not why they are a Christian.

It's interesting that you say that Matt. The other day in the youth group I help out we were going over why people became Christians. Almost universally, for those students who had not grown up in the church, the answer was the people that they met and youth group and at camp. It was the quality of life and the type of life that they saw these Christians living that made them want to become Christians. Ultimately, I think this is what attracts (and also sadly discourages) many people from becoming Christians.

coldfire,

Those are great questions, but those aren't questions that are to be answered under the question 'why i am a christian.' Those questions come after that question. They are important, but you have to establish the 'why' before you move onto the 'then what?'

Weston,

Great answer. All in all, you are a Christian because you needed savin' and God saved you. I like it!

Hi Weston,
Thanks for posting this. Here is where I am worried. I read a whole page on why you are a Christian, but I learned nothing about you or about how your Christianity affects your life. Obviously, I understand that what you are really providing is a gospel message, but what does that have to do with you? I guess I am just stuck on this idea, yes Christ died, but now what? How are we to live? What are we supposed to do until we die?
