Christianity Today has published an article I wrote a few weeks ago called “Our Ears Still Itch.” You can read the article here.

An excerpt here:

“The preaching we listen to on Sundays may be truth-filled and Bible-centered, but if it only points out the problems of everyone else in the world, it misses its target. Our ears are tickled, but our hearts are unchanged. Ear-tickling preaching may step on toes, but they’re never the toes of the people in the pews or the pastor in the pulpit.”

  1. Congrats on the article!

Thank you so much for putting these thoughts to paper. As a pastor it is very enticing (fear of man) to tell people what they want to hear. But a faithful shepherd must seek to fear the Lord enough to let His Word take His message where He wants it to go – even if it doesn’t play well with the audience. That is exactly the ministry Isaiah, Jeremiah, and even our Lord had. May we be honest to Him.

  3. Charles says:

    Congratulations!
