In Wenham's text (IVP) on the Pentateuch, Exploring the Old Testament Vol. 1, he asserts that Noah's Flood was only regional, ie. was not universal, the ages given for the preflood patriarchs cannot be taken literally, that the first 11 chapters are merely a "theological retelling" of ancient myths, that we accept elements of the theory of evolution "because many eminent scientists affirm them." It will be interesting to see how many of Wenham's published assertions regarding the first 11 chapters of Genesis made it by the oversight and editorial teams into the final product.
