Overseer of My Soul
Overseer of my soul,
You are big enough for me to rest in your power,
and yet small enough to reside in my heart.
Knowing that you are aware of every aspect of my life
causes me to rejoice with wonder and to shake in fear.
I rejoice because you watch me, foresee my needs and help me through trials.
Your mindful eye is ever upon me, assuring me of your love and grace.
Yet even as I take comfort in your constant presence,
I also understand that none of my faults are hidden from your sight.
You see my temptations, struggles, secret sins, and rebellious nature.
You know my heart’s wickedness and my mind’s impurity.
May your hand guide me to yourself,
where your mercy forgives me and your grace adopts me.
Help me to rest in your presence.
Fill me with a holy reverence for your majesty
and remind me of your presence in all moments of my life.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
