I suspect it is mostly sectarian as most of the contributors to it are Reformed. It's another literal translation in the same vein as the KJV and NKJV and others. It is a good translation. But why all the hoopla? Like I said before, the fuss is probably because it is basically an American Reformed translation and these guys are making a lot of noise about it as they usually do about things they get excited about. At least... that's the point I was making in my review. Lots of people are enjoying the comprehensiveness of that particular study Bible. Regarding the ESV as a translation, I have great appreciation. It is the great-grandson of the KJV. I appreciate the desire to stay within the great tradition of English translations, faithfully represent the Greek and Hebrew texts, and maintain much of the poetic nature of the psalms.
