I haven’t read any of the three, but will try to get around to it. Before I do though, I am curious, is there any speculation about the other side of this ideology of success? For example, if success is not to be understood as being self-determined, where does that leave failure? Likewise, if perseverance (and implicitly, the lack of it) is not to be seen as controlled ultimately only by the individual, do we not start out on the same slippery slope as the moral relativists?

Trevin, your favorite chapter was my favorite chapter. By the way, I had to buy this book because you wouldn't give it back to your dad.

Trevin, Thanks for a good review of a good book. I have read these three books, too and I highly recommend them. They are very interesting and provocative.
