You mean it's not all about ME? It's not all about making me rich and giving me my best life now?

PRAISE GOD! Can you imagine how quickly the universe would implode if it was all about me...or you...or even all of humanity? Only when we put first things first (Loving God with all our heart and soul and mind and strength) and second things second (loving our neighbors as ourselves) can we get life right.

So easy to say, so hard to do...

Thanks for posting this entry.

Possibly so. Including a salvation appeal in every message necessarily turns the sermon outward to the lost. So some may find that as a helpful way of avoiding the dreaded "inversion."

Do you think the 99 and 1 parable is the reason some pastors include a salvation appeal in almost every message?
