Another book about a different African issue that I found quite enlightening, though the author’s perspective and writing are not so clearly Christian, was Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela’s book A Human Being Died That Night: A South African Woman Confronts the Legacy of Apartheid, in which she, with a psychology bkgrd as well as being associated with South Africa’s Reconciliation Commission, goes to prison to speak with one of the most notorious policemen of South Africa’s apartheid regime. In the book she tries to better understand how and why human beings can treat each other so badly.
