Yes, Cassandra, and regard every teaching that seems so opposite and so opposed as actual invitations to trust Christ. The woman of Canaan heard Jesus said, “I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”(Mt.15:24) Her response was to come and worship Him, saying, Lord, help me.(15:25). He went on to present an even more difficult teaching, and that one she agreed with and used it as an argument, a reason for Him to answer her request. Job said it well, “Though He slay me, Yet shall I trust Him.”(Job 13:15). The blessings come through such seeming difficulties, even salvation through a severe trial of Truth.

I was searching for myself and answers, and this was the first question I asked myself. Perhaps I am seeking Jesus. Thank you for the prayer. I am not a Christian, but I believe in the power of prayer and God. Thank you. Perhaps this will help to heal and ease my mind.

yesterday i preached on “who do you say that i am” — a wonderful study (sermon series) might be to seek out all of the questions that Jesus asked in the gospels.

thank you for the blessing of your devotional comments. our hearts are an idol factory running 24/7 and we need the constant reminder that HE IS THE ONE WE ARE SEEKING.
