Thank You for sharing my pastor shared this yesterday at church. The body of Christ is so good to be a part of. People let God's love fill you and pour out of you. Will you stand for truth and Righteousness? Only Jesus can give true freedom and peace.

My husband and I were on a mission trip to Romania in Nov. of 2000. We had the privilege of hearing Peter Dugulescu give his testimony, in Ceausecu's office, in the palace. A moment in time we well never forget.

Amazing events. I feel so moved with wonder. I pray that our own Beloved America never feels such oppression. May God continue to be proclaimed.

Wow, that almost sounds like a hagiography of Laszlo Tokes. As with everybody, he is more than "a Reformed pastor on fire for Christ." Among those other things, a fierce Magyar nationalism.

I was there when all this happened. I was only 8 when Romania became FREE, but I can still remember very clearly part of my childhood under the Iron Curtain. Many nights I and my family would gather together around a burning candle, because THEY would cut the electricity after 10 p.m.
There was only one channel on the black & white TV, and it was all about the communist party. We (the children) only had cartoons on TV once a day, at 7:00 p.m. for 20-30 minutes. We would spend most of the days waiting in long lines to buy a half of bread, which was the daily ration per person. It was the same way with salami, milk, and just about everything else. Many times people would ask me if they could hold me in their arms and claim to be their child so they can get a whole bread for that day. Even the most basic exotic fruits like oranges and bananas where very very rare. We would wait in line all day long to buy a few GREEN bananas, and then wait another few long days for them to ripe on top of the closet where we could not reach them.
When I first heard about America, it sounded to me like heaven on earth. When I saw the first dollar bill and read IN GOD WE TRUST, it became my dream to come to this country.
There would be many things to say, but it's time to go to church.
Let's be thankful for the freedom we have now and this blessed country.

Thank you for the story! I'm from Romania and I was 9 when all these events happened. I'm so glad that we are not living under communism anymore, it was such a dark period in our history. Praise the Lord for freedom!

I have been doing mission work in Romania for many years and have been to these places in Timisoara. Thank you for printing this story. The gospel is still traveling across Romania and alot of people are coming to Jesus. We have been in the church mentioned here and been to the square where it happened- this is indeed Holy Ground.

Praise God for freedom! God loves to see His people walking in it, and how wonderful it is that our Romanian brothers and sisters can worship God in it!
