Good interview Trevin- One thing I've noticed about CT these last few years is that they really have made an effort to produce a 'better' content in theology and overall doctrinal stuff. I dont rememeber them being this good 10 years or so ago. maybe I just never noticed it, but they seem to have improved by leaps and bounds these last 10 years or so. God bless,John

For what it's worth, the two paragraphs that begin "My personal view is that it is not our job to transform our culture, let alone our world," express almost exactly my own views, as readers of Culture Making know (especially from the chapter titled "Why We Can't Change the World"). The really interesting thing is that they are, in the end, the views that James Hunter seems to end up espousing in To Change the World as well . . . in spite of its title!

Love this interview. We all need more grace. Giving grace to others, receiving grace for ourselves. CT has an excellent story by Chris Rice this month on grace..."Born again...again"

Transforming the culture, or doing what God has called us to do?
In one sense I don't see this as an either/or proposition. I guess it's a matter of focus. If our life focus, or MO, is to transform the culture then I guess one could make the case that we are shooting at the wrong target. If however our daily focus is to "fulfill our ministry" - do what God has called us to do, then the culture-changing thing will follow as God determines, but the main thing is that we will have been found faithful. Just my musings.

I really like CT, and I think lately--despite the downsizing--their content has been really excellent. And it's still really nice to hold a magazine in your hands and turn the pages (rather than scrolling and clicking), Thanks for posting this interview, Trevin.
