Glad at Your Son’s Birth

O God, you make us glad by the yearly festival
of the birth of your only Son Jesus Christ:
Grant that we,
who joyfully receive him as our Redeemer,
may with sure confidence behold him
when he comes to be our Judge;
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

    As an ex-Roman Catholic, I have resisted the allure of the various books of prayer, regardless of the tradition. Since my conversion, I took books like that to be stale and “vain repetitions”. But prayers like this one have definitely caused me to reconsider and be open. Thanks for posting this.
