White Horse Inn Interview
White Horse Inn Interview avatar

Not long ago, I had the privilege of being interviewed by my friend Michael Horton on his radio show, The White Horse Inn. We talked for over 30 minutes about my book Unfashionable and the current state of the American church.

As many of you know, Dr. Horton is professor of apologetics and systematic theology at Westminster Seminary in California and author of numerous books, including Putting Amazing Back into Grace, Introducing Covenant Theology, and Christless Christianity. His new book, The Gospel-Driven Life will be out in October. Mike is also the Editor-in-Chief of Modern Reformation magazine.

The interview is featured on this weeks edition of the White Horse Inn. You can listen to our conversation here.

How Can I Keep From Singing?
How Can I Keep From Singing? avatar

These lines from a folk hymn written in 1864 by Anne Warner have been a real comfort to my weary soul all week long:

My life goes on in endless song, above earth’s lamentations; I hear the real, though far off hymn, that hails a new creation.

Above the tumult and the strife, I hear its music ringing; it sounds an echo in my soul, how can I keep from singing?

What though my joys and comforts die, the Lord my Savior liveth; and though the darkness rounds me close, songs in the night he giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that Rock I’m clinging; Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing?
