Fox And Friends

Posted By Tullian Tchividjian On October 17, 2012 @ 9:54 am In Uncategorized | 16 Comments

This past Monday morning I had the privilege of being on Fox and Friends [1] to discuss my book Glorious Ruin: How Suffering Sets You Free [2]. And while it was EARLY (6:30 am) and poor Gretchen butchered my name, I had a great time and I thank God for the opportunity to discuss the ever present reality of being broken people living in a broken world with other broken people.

Hi – I’m glad you posted this, am not usually up that early & haven’t seen this show. Great interview! & opportunity to share about your book. I really like what you said and how you handled the political side of the talk. I remember that my parents didn’t talk about who they voted for either, can be wise for anyone and for high profile people :) ..(we also like how Michael Horton discusses politics/faith in his books).

If you’ve ever doubted that people are fundamentally broken, just watch Fox and Friends. They continue to bolster my conviction that man is fallen, hopeless and totally depraved!

Been to NYC early in the morning, on Christmas eve when all the hustle and bustle is temp suspended. And all are looking for the hope of Christmas. I got to see the show. I am sure you peeked the interest of many.

At first I thought “The Gospel was missing in the interview… no mention of Jesus or the Cross”. Was that purposeful to promote interest in the book without fostering a simplistic stereotype of it?

Thank you so much for doing this Tullian and having the courage to present the unwatered down, gospel-filled truth on public television!

I know you love politics AND don’t want to get political. I think that’s just great, the church is not a PAC.

BUT… when your uncle and grandfather do stuff like they did this past week, removing truthful information about Mormonism (NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY) to avoid conflict, AND then taking out ads for Romney in newspaspers…(? don’t want to be political, then being political?)

AND simultaneously you publicly laud your grandfather’s faith, dear as he is to us all, when he’s been making inclusivist noises since the 80′s… it makes it sound like you don’t think those compromises are any big deal.

Personhood IS a big deal… Romney is Pro Choice, not pro life. He’s also plainly either lying or totally confused as to what he believes about anything. His positions change like the wind. Christians can’t very well justify supporting a smaller murderer just because they fear the bigger murderer. Do we fear God or Obama?

I know you probably won’t want to leave this up on the thread but i just did want to voice my concerns. If Tullian isn’t reading this I beseech whoever is to pass this on. I love Tullian’s uncompromising messages and ministry. It is hard to go against family. Very hard. Harder than having a church fight/split over your ideas. But still a very real result of standing for righteousness and truth, as we are told by Jesus himself in the gospels. Families will be divided.
