“Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our ancestors by the prophets. 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” (Heb.1:1-2)

Heavenly Father, thank you for being a God who speaks—a Father who is delights to reveal yourself to your children. In particular, we bless you for how the Scriptures will always lead us to Jesus—the meaning and focus, antitype, Hero, and fulfillment of the entire Bible. It is impossible for us to make too much of Jesus or over-marvel at him.

By Jesus you created and uphold the world, and have designated him heir of all things. Wonder of wonders—you have given us to Jesus, declared his righteousness to be ours, and made us co-heirs with him (Rom. 8:17). Abba, how do we wrap our heads and hearts around all of this?

“He (Jesus) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Heb.1:3). To see Jesus is to see everything we need to understand and grasp about you. To know Jesus is to rest and revel in his work on our behalf. For you have declared Jesus to be our righteousness, holiness, and redemption” (1Cor.1:30)—Hallelujah on Gospel-steroids!

From your right hand, Jesus is ruling the kings of the earth, working in all things for our good, interceding for us non-stop, making all things new, and preparing to return as our affection-filled Bridegroom. Father, we are undone, overwhelmed, grateful and shout, “Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” So Very Amen.
