“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
Heavenly Father—hope, joy, and peace… grant us a copious measure of each this week. You intend much more than just okay-ness for us.
Supersize our hope.
- The heart-settling hope of knowing the war in Ukraine isn’t ultimate or forever, but our earth filled with your glory is.
- Make the hope of the Gospel so palpably real to us, we will suffer with courage and love with abandon.
- The blessed hope that Jesus could return today, but will return on the perfect day.
Refuel our joy.
- The joy of knowing you are with us and for us, and that nothing can separate us from your love.
- The joy of knowing you love us as much as you love Jesus, for you’ve clothed us in his righteousness and have hidden our lives in his
- The joy of experiencing your grace in our weakness, and your mercy in our messes.
Center us with your peace.
- Peace that isn’t limited to our understanding, and doesn’t require circumstances or people to change.
- The peace of knowing you are at work in the lives of our kids, the politics of the nations; and that, however you answer our prayers, it’s always right
- The fear-shrinking peace of remembering history is still your story, and that you are totally sovereign over every cricket, curve ball, crucible, and crisis. So Very Amen.
