Evangelical Renewal for Gospel Mission
This lively dialogue considers the many ways race, sex, politics, and social media are tearing evangelical communities apart. The panel will also reflect on what pastors, teachers, and other Christian leaders can do to restore true Christian community and empower effective gospel witness that is faithful to Scripture and relevant to culture.
Vincent Bacote
Vincent Bacote is the author of The Political Disciple: A Theology of Public Life and The Spirit in Public Theology: Appropriating the Legacy of Abraham Kuyper. Dr. Bacote has contributed to books including Black Scholars in White Space: New Vistas in African American Studies from the Christian Academy; On Kuyper; Aliens in the Promised Land: Why Minority Leadership Is Overlooked in White Christian Churches and Institutions; Keep Your Head Up; and Prophetic Evangelicals. He is a regular columnist for Comment and has written for Books and Culture, Christianity Today, Think Christian, re:generation quarterly, and journals such as Christian Scholars Review, Urban Mission and Journal for Christian Theological Research.

Steve DeWitt
Steve DeWitt is senior pastor at Bethel Church in Crown Point, Indiana. Steve’s passions include expository preaching, the doctrines of grace, helping the church engage its culture, and the beauty of God. He often speaks in contexts outside Bethel and enjoys traveling as a part of Bethel’s global mission efforts. Steve is a graduate of Cornerstone University and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and released his first authored book in 2012, Eyes Wide Open: Enjoying God in Everything.

John Dickson
John Dickson is an historian, author, and public advocate for the Christian faith. He co-founded Australia’s Centre for Public Christianity, has written over 20 books, and produced three historical television documentaries. His Undeceptions podcast remains Australia’s #1 religion podcast. John has taught and researched in various academic settings, including Macquarie University, Ridley College, and the Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford, where he is a Visiting Academic.

Philip Ryken
Philip Ryken is the president of Wheaton College and serves as a board member for The Gospel Coalition, the National Association of Evangelicals, and the Lausanne Movement. He earned an MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary and a DPhil from the University of Oxford in historical theology. He has published more than 50 Bible commentaries and other books. He and his wife Lisa have five children, including two Wheaton students and two Wheaton alumni, as well as one grandchild.
