“One thing we should all agree on is the fact we need to pray more. Not more posting on social media, but more prayer.” — Paul Kim
Text: 1 Peter 2:13–17
Preached: November 13, 2016
Location: Redeemer Presbyterian Church, San Diego, California
A note from the preacher:
I preached this sermon with some fear and trembling. As we are a multi-generational and multi-ethnic church in San Diego, California, the election was a particularly sensitive issue for our context. Hence, this unique message was given on the Sunday following the election.
It’s important for the listener to know that I was going to deliver a message from the same passages with the same outline regardless of the outcome.
At Redeemer, we do not endorse any one candidate for the office of POTUS. But we do proudly and unabashedly boast in the One on whose shoulders the government rests, Jesus Christ (Isa. 9:6).
That there would be grace and peace extended to one another in our country and in the family of God,
Paul Kim
